Volunteering represents the work of HEIs staff and students without any financial compensation, which is of great importance not only for university itself but also for the local community. Volunteering organized by the HEIs or initiated by the individuals (volunteers) that is recognized in soem form in the system of higher education is the subject of D5.4 Document on social engagement of members of academic and scientific community.

D5.4 gives the short preview of volunteering, its types, duration periods, benefits and recommends the set of motivational activities to promote volunteering among students.

It also provides the recommendations of procedures for application, selection and realization of volunteering activities at the university level.

Besides the student volunteering, the document describes the opportunities for volunteering for university staff with recommendations for its documenting and clear benefits for both the staff and home university/faculty.
