The competition for the best student idea was launched on 15th February 2017 at seven higher education institution in Serbia, among which is the University of Kragujevac.

On the beginning of the meeting prof. dr Dragan Antic, rector of the University of Nis, greeted all attendees and wished successful two-day meeting. He emphasized importance of the development of the third mission of the HEIs, and all accompanying dimensions: technology transfer and innovation, continuous education and social engagement. After that, project coordinator prof. dr Vesna Mandic introduced IF4TM project which is implemented as partnership of 5 European HEI, 6 Serbian HEIs, Ministry of education science and technology development, Office for intellectual property, Higher school of applied studies, three business incubators and one SME.

After start of the Competition for the best student idea Info day for prospective competition participants was organised on SUNP in cooperation with Students Parliament of SUNP. During Info day students were introduced with overview and short description of the IF4TM project and role of the Innovation and students participation in to HEI third mission.

Important part of IF4TM project cover transfer of technology dimension of Universities third mission and should support implementation of the whole innovation cycle. This cycle start from idea management, through project monitoring all the way to the product/service launch to market.

Within activity 3.2 “Trainings for INNO platforms’ users” of the IF4TM project, a training was held at the University of Novi Sad. Trainer Jovana Pajović from Intranea Solutions taught INNO administrators from UNS and TCAS how to use the platform and its features on February 9

Within activity 3.2 “Trainings for INNO platforms’ users” IF4TM partners University of Niš, State University of Novi Pazar, and Belgrade University Metropolitan held joint training at University of Niš on February 2.

Within activities 2.3 and 2.4 IF4TM partners from Serbia visited University of Maribor regarding capacity building training program on December 7-9, 2016. The purpose of the Study visit was development of new and modification of existing universities’ regulatory documents in compliance with new policies and law amendments (Act 2.3) as well as implementation of capacity building programme for university staff for implementation of the new legal framework for the third mission (Act 2.4).

In the weekly newspaper “Prosvetni glasnik” , Prof. Dr. Vesna Mandic presented the IF4TM project to the wider public. Prof. Mandic presented the institutional framework for the development of the third mission as three pillows of the future development: technology transfer and innovations, continuing education and social engagement of the universities.
